Whether you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right.
– Henry Ford
Our own perception about life is EXACTLY that – a perception. A state of mind.
So whether we choose to constantly play the victim OR view life a gift, your choice of perception ultimately shapes the life that we choose to live, it will dictate our actions and being.
We’re no different from anyone and we admit that every time we find ourselves in a situation that is less desirable, we get upset or disappointed and it’s absolutely fair enough to acknowledge those feelings but we always try to catch ourselves and learn how to let those feelings go. We try to always remember that there is absolutely no reason to let all that negative emotion take over our entire being.
There is so much more to life than focusing all your energy on your negative emotions, fueling that downward spiral.
We view such events as “speed humps” and NEVER as a hindrance to what we want to do and who we want to become.
We all encounter “speed humps” in different forms and sometimes, it may feel that they’re all too constant.
The challenge is to never define these “speed humps” as an indestructible wall, a dead end – find the resolve to move forward, deviate, if you must and always remember that your own perception of whether that event was good or bad is entirely your choice.
You have the power to control your state of mind.
A few years back I came across an article that spoke about the 10/10/10 rule – next time your find yourself in doubt or in a slump,
Ask yourself: Will this affect me or anyone in 10 hours? will this still be relevant in 10 months? will it matter in 10 years?
ALMOST ALL THE TIME the answer will be NO.
Life is too precious to take seriously.
We all make mistakes and pave our own way. It is never about the things that happen to us but how we act and learn from them.
Enjoy the journey, we only have one life to live to the fullest.
